One blustery, stormy night as I thought I hear a crack of thunder, I was dimayed for my endeared tree had fallen to the ground. Days of anguishing and back breaking work to cut the tree in manageable pieces so that the new shattered world of the tree would not be shattered all over the yard. The pulchritudinous patterns and magnificent markings of the tree captivated me. How beautiful the spalted maple tree is.

 

These lathe crafted candle holders shows the distinct pattern of the Spalted Maple tree. This set came from the same log segment so both have a similar ring pattern. Unfortunatly the wood shruck, so now one of the candle holders hole is too small (originally both holes were too large) and the other one has such a tight grip around the candle, it is stuck. Other than that, the idea was great, but next time I will leave both candles in so I do not end up with just a tiny bowl.
